Speak Up
by Harriet Wood
The mural “United to end violence against women & girls” is situated on the wall of St Anne’s Resource Centre, a day service for homeless or vulnerable individuals. Renowned graffiti artist Harriet Wood, an alumna of Leeds Art University and recognised among the Top 5 female graffiti artists in the UK by The Guardian, is the creative force behind this impactful piece.
As part of the commissioned collaboration, Harriet engaged with and drew inspiration from young women associated with Getaway Girls, a group aligned with Women Friendly Leeds. This alliance empowers young women, fostering mutual support, confidence, and resilience to enable them to lead secure, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
